I studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts from 1991 to 1997 at Baghdad University, Iraq. I am primarily a self-taught, full-time artist, deeply inspired by nature as my constant muse and driven by a profound passion for creative expression. My work seeks to capture and translate the awe-inspiring beauty of the natural world through the dynamic movement of my paintbrush, fueled by a compelling inner drive. Layer after luminous layer, my paintings gradually come to life—whether sparked by a breathtaking sky that deeply moved me one serene morning or the ocean with its ever-changing rhythm that invited me to pause and reflect. To convey these feelings and emotions genuinely, I aim to imbue a sense of calm and tranquility in my work, thereby fulfilling my core artistic purpose. As both an artist and researcher, I continually explore new techniques and materials to refresh and refine my practice. I predominantly use heavy body acrylic and oil paint, occasionally blending it with various mediums when the composition calls for it, applied meticulously on canvas or woodboard surfaces. I intentionally keep brushstrokes visible and emphasize rich texture to accentuate the tactile quality of my paintings, inviting viewers to connect with the physicality and depth of each piece.
